The Food-Prep Master

I was in my early twenties, lying in a hospital bed, suffering from severe illness, and the doctors told my family I wouldn't make it. I was one of those moments where you bargain with God and vow to give differently if given a second chance. 



When I awoke the next morning, by the grace of God, 
I knew it was time to make profound changes. 


I also could no longer ignore the doctor's working about my poor eating and sleeping habits. It was time for me to start feeding myself deeply and nutritionally on every level of life: spiritually, physically emotionally, relationally, and all with a heart of gratitude. 



I understood the impact nutrition had on the human body after watching my mother successfully manage her wide-spread, severe chronic pain with a healthy diet, instead of anti-inflammatories and pain medications. I furthered my understanding in graduate school by studying Food Technology and Biotechnology, learning even more about food processing and genetic engineering. 



The more I learned, the more I valued whole foods, clean eating, and quality ingredients.



 When I got married and started a family, healthy eating was even more important, but it also needed to be quick. My husband was busy working full-time and running a company, and I homeschool our four children, taught high school chemistry, and was regularly trying to feed more than half a dozen people while on a budget. 





I learned how to meal prep on a busy schedule and discovered different ways I could save time and money while still providing my family with quick and healthy, home-cooked meals. 





When my youngest was just 10 years old, I unexpectedly became a widow. Using everything I'd learned and the systems I'd developed, I was able to balance full-time working and raising my kids while still getting nutritious meals on the table every night. 



I wasn't always easy, but I refused to let my family's health slip through the cracks. 



With the right education and preparation, I was able to save money grocery shopping in bulk, become a master meal-prepper, and avoided feeding my family processed foods.
